What a Ceramic Coating is Not

There are a few common misconceptions about what a ceramic coating can do for your vehicle. Ceramic coatings are not an alternative to PPF’s (paint protection films). Rather, they can be thought of as an upgrade to traditional wax. Here is a list of what ceramic coatings will not eliminate the risk of:

• Scratches
• Swirl Marks
• Rock Chips
• Water Spotting

Although a ceramic coating will not entirely protect your vehicle from these nuisances, the protection it will provide can reduce damage up to 75% compared to an uncoated vehicle. A ceramic coating also will not eliminate the need to wash your vehicle. Neglected ceramic coatings can reduce their longevity as well as reduce their shine.

Is a Ceramic Coating Worth it?

We believe that most vehicles can benefit from some sort of ceramic coating. Although these coatings will not give your vehicle superpowers, their added protection will ensure that your vehicle stays nicer for longer. On top of this added protection, ceramic coatings will enhance your vehicles appearance, making sure that your investment stays of high value. Although ceramic coatings can be a little pricey, their longevity makes up for it. Traditional wax typically lasts a couple of months while ceramic coatings typically last a couple of years, meaning that in most cases, a ceramic coating will give you more bang for your buck.

Is your vehicle eligible?

Ceramic coatings are not applicable for every vehicle. For a vehicle to be ceramic coated, it must undergo an extensive preparation process. This process almost always involves some form of paint compounding, correcting, and/or polishing. To do this, the factory paint will need to already be in good condition. This eliminates most older vehicles or any vehicle with neglected paint, as well as vehicles with moderate to severe dents, scrapes, or scratches. Ceramic coatings are excellent for vehicles that are newer and are in good condition. These coatings can be applied to your vehicles paint, glass, rims & calipers, leather, trim (inside and out), fabric, and interior plastics/vinyl.

Step 1 - Initial Wash

We start with an initial wash to remove all loose contaminants on the surface of your vehicle’s paint. This includes a high pressure pre-rinse, hand wash, rinse, and hand dry. We also clean the tires, wheels, and wheel wells during this step. Following the wash, we clay bar the entire vehicle if necessary. Furthermore, we also apply an iron decontamination spray if needed. These two steps are to remove any embedded particles in your vehicles clear coat.

Step 2 - Interior Cleaning

Why have a perfect exterior and a dirty interior? All of our ceramic coating packages include an interior cleaning. The entire interior of your vehicle is vacuumed, wiped down, and dusted. We then apply a protectant to all interior plastics and clean the glass. Interior cloth, leather, and plastics can also be ceramic coated for maximum interior protection.

Step 3 - Paint Correction

A paint correction is crucial to ensure that the coating is applied evenly. Depending on the condition of your vehicles paint, we either start with a compound or polish. Using a dual action orbital polisher and a foam buffing pad, we buff your vehicles paint as close to perfection as possible.

Step 4 - The Coating

After your vehicle has been completely cleaned to perfection, we are then ready to apply the coating. Depending on your coating, the application will vary slightly. However, the basics of applying a coating begin with a proper application pad and a precise amount of ceramic coating. We apply the coating in sections, working from top to bottom. After allowing enough cure time, we then remove the excess coating and buff the paint to a high gloss finish.
